Cablescan's management and engineering teams bring deep expertise in the manufacture, project management and quality assurance of Military aircraft harnesses. Holding AS9100 certification and SC21 accreditation, and backed by sustained investment in tooling and personnel development, we have been awarded contracts across both fixed wing and rotary aircraft programmes.

In 2011, Cablescan acquired Phoenix Power Systems — a company founded in 1992 and renowned for the manufacture of bespoke avionics test benches, wiring harnesses, systems control panels and instrumentation for the aerospace, military and related industries. Following a structured integration of personnel, processes and customer relationships, that transition is now fully complete.
Over the years we have delivered projects across a wide range of prestigious programmes, including Hawk, Nimrod, Typhoon, Falcon 7X and JSF. Our dedicated Support and Production Cell provides end-to-end capability — from complex electrical harness and test rig assembly through to the detailed quality procedures each project demands. We serve customers worldwide, with a consistent focus on reliability, on-time delivery and value.

Cablescan manufactures cable assemblies for Naval and Marine applications, utilising Low Smoke and Zero Halogen (LSZH) materials to ensure suitability for below-deck environments. Assembly configurations are tailored to the specific data transmission requirements of each application, with options including RJ45, USB and standard copper solutions.
For assemblies exposed to the elements, we specify Nickel Aluminium Bronze connectors and apply over-moulded connector terminations to provide a robust barrier against water ingress.

We work either to customer-supplied drawings and specifications, or collaboratively with project managers and engineers to develop solutions that meet all relevant customer and legislative requirements. Our engineering team maintains extensive product knowledge and benefits from regular supply chain updates, ensuring the most effective material solutions are recommended — balancing both cost and functionality.

Our sealed, ruggedised cable solutions are deployed in demanding applications including: Secure communication systems, Mine and IED detection, Platform surveillance systems, and Vehicle chassis harnesses
Our products are designed to perform in some of the world's most challenging operational environments, withstanding extremes of temperature, dust, water ingress and vibration. We maintain close relationships with our supply chain to ensure product knowledge remains current and aligned with our engineering expertise and best practice.
Our Project Engineers collaborate directly with customers to ensure every solution meets the required operational specifications. A dedicated UoE support and manufacturing cell enables the rapid development and production of cables and enclosures, with capabilities that include reverse engineering of existing products and the generation of manufacturing drawings. With VDE registration now secured, our scope of supply continues to expand across the European market.

Every product supplied undergoes 100% inspection with in-process inspection applied where required and full traceability is maintained across both material supply and the manufacturing process. Our quality framework, grounded in AS9100 certification and IPC620 standards, underpins every product we deliver to this sector.

Cablescan's Offshore, Energy and Renewables capability is underpinned by AS9100 aerospace quality accreditation and ISO9001:2015 certification. Experience gained across Military vehicle and aircraft harness programmes has directly informed our ability to supply this sector with materials engineered for the harshest environments — including resistance to water ingress, salt spray and vibration.
We collaborate with customers to embed best-practice manufacturing methods from the outset, supporting projects from initial prototyping through to lean volume production. Our investment in specialist tooling provides the capability to terminate high power cables up to 185mm². Automated strip tooling further enables rapid prototyping alongside efficient volume manufacture.
Cablescan's Offshore, Energy and Renewables capability is underpinned by AS9100 aerospace quality accreditation and ISO9001:2015 certification.
